Cock's Split In Back-To-Back Games
GAME 6Multi Chevrolet 14, Fighting Cocks 11
Just as they did in their last outing, the Fighting Cock's came out slow at the plate, and sloppy in the field. Multi Chevrolet would strike for seven first inning runs, aided by a few errors, to take an early lead. To make matters worse, the Cock's bats were weak for the entire first half of the game, allowing Multi Chevrolet to take a commanding 14-0 lead into the fourth inning.
However, just as suddenly as the Cock's fell behind, their bats awoke, scoring four runs in the 4th, and then seven more in the seventh. Unfortunately, the early game deficit was to large to overcome, as the Cocks dropped a 14-11 decision to a young and inexperienced Multi Chevrolet bunch.

GAME 7
Fighting Cocks 15, Joe's Place 14
For the third straight game, the Fighting Cocks were dreadful early on, a habit that must be broken if the Cocks intend to make another run at the league championship this season. Joe's Place jumped out to an early 5-2 lead after one inning, assisted by an error in left field by Christopher Ghuzzi that allowed two runs to score. Joe's Place would extend the lead to 10-5 by the time the sixth inning ended, and it looked as if the Cock's would drop back-to-back games in terrible fashion.
However, in what has become their calling card as of late, the Cock's bats would awake only when their backs were planted firmly against the wall. Eleven men would walk to the plate in the inning en-route to nine runs and a 14-10 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh. Cleanup hitter Lenny Worthington was vastly important in the rally, as he singled to drive in a run during the offensive outburst, capping his 4-5 evening at the plate. The key at bat in the inning came as the Cock's had already taken the lead 11-10. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two men out, Christopher Ghuzzi came to the plate with a chance to extend the lead and atone for his error early in the game. Ghuzzi blasted the first pitch deep into the center field gap, and when the ball bounced over the left-center fielder's head, the drive became a three run homer that gave the Cock's an important 14-10 lead.
Joe's Place would not go down easily, as their first three batters wripped singles to quickly cut the lead to 14-12. After Jack Zucker made a tremendous circus catch on a bloop over second base to record the first out, Joe's would pull within one run on a sacrifice fly to left. That's as close as they would get. The final batter wripped a line drive back to the mound that pitcher Sal Milone snagged to end the game.

That last inning was stressful as hell. After my hitting slump lately, when came up to the plate I was sure I was going to ground out to a double play which would have been followed directly by my 100% legitimate retirement. I was also sure Jack was going to fall on his ass trying to catch that pop up. I can't handle any more games like that.
billy u need to seriously relax. stop overthinking everything and psyching yourself out. u just have to relax at the plate and expect that u are going to get a hit when u are up. when u start worrying too much you try to force things to happen and thats when people really get into a slump. just take it easy at bat and think about getting hits and not double plays.

RELAX! DON'T DO IT!
anyone notice jack's been crushing the ball lately?
well, not deep flies, but solid line drive singles....
i think the bottom of the order really came through that last inning and helped set up the smack we very much needed from ghuz. it was a great inning...if we average 3 or 4 more top 7ths per game, we'd be in really good shape!
The entire lineup has hit in spurts at different points throughout the season.
If we could get everyone hitting consitently at the same time (like last season), we would be in much better shape.
